About School

Spectrum is an accredited Cambridge school located in Astana, Kazakhstan. We offer the full Cambridge International Curriculum from Grade 0 (Year 1) to Grade 12 (Year 13). Our students complete Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations in Grades 5 and 8; IGCSE’s in Grade 10 and International A-Levels in Grade 12.

I have had the pleasure of working at Spectrum International school as a teacher of Chemistry for 8 years as a British citizen and this is the first time that I have worked overseas. I transitioned over into teaching in 1997 after obtaining both a PGCE in secondary education from Aberystwyth University, Wales. Since then I have worked in both secondary education and an A level college teaching Chemistry before being offered the opportunity to come to Spectrum. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working here in a friendly environment where the students are very polite and in small sized classes and have gained valuable life experiences working in Astana.

Who is Spectrum teacher?

We would like to recruit passionate, dedicated, and experienced teachers for our expanding school. Candidates are expected to possess a commitment to creating and managing a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment which is conducive to children’s learning. Candidates should also be able to easily adapt to new cultures and environments. The majority of our students are local nationals, for whom English is not their First Language. We have a diverse student body with fluent English-speaking local nationals and expatriates and our student population continues to grow each year.
